How to become a good JAVA programmer

For long you might be wondering not only how to be a programmer, but indeed a good JAVA pprogrammer. In this post, I am going stepwise and probably give you some advice(Remember i dont have to be the elder, i am the experienced).
All programmers think logically, and sometimes you got to be critical.Its an advantage if early in life you liked "thinking" subjects(Physics, mathematics, etc). This subjects builds up mind and prepares programmers at junior level.The interest in these subjects is crucial to any programmer.

Once you learn what is programming and indeed you code that convectional hello world program, you now have to teach yourself how to program without pay. Yes, I mean free.This helps you do this thing for passion and ideally you perfect your coding.
Programming is a lifestyle.So if you think it was a profession, probably we differ.Earning a livelihood through programming is a by-product, the main aim is living as a programmer; not because I am a programmer.
As a programmer, patience pays. Much as it pains, you should be focus on its rewards other than anything else. What would you do with $600, tax free? Yes, thats achievable. I am greatly inspired by Mark Shuttleworth's story, probably the most successful South african Software Developer who spends 90 Hours per weeek behind a computer screen.
What you should do

1. Get the Required tools. Download an IDE to start with java programming.Get Netbeans IDEhere. Also make sure you get JDK that suites your Version of IDE.Similarly, you can use editors like Notepad, vi, or emacs to write your code.
2. Learn the basic edit-compile-test cycle. Write code, compile into class file, run, debug, re-run until the code works just fine.
   
3. Buy a book on Java programming. WAIT: Dont read it, Study it. Before coding,learn the basic concepts of programming.Visit the Sun's API Documentation website and learn how classes, methods and others work.
4. Program for Fun.
5. Start programming a project in your favourite field; School, Hospital, Sports, etc
6. Write alot of code. Keep on improving your project to add extra functionalities.
7. Learn to use tools.Dont repeat what has been done.
8. always ask.Seek guidance from available expertise.
9. Never stop learning.Keep yourself updated on current development in the field of Java. Subscribe to newsletters and Java Forums.
10. One more thing, Dont put all your project in one method.
